ARC Future Timber Hub Research Showcase - Save the Dates

 

The ARC Future Timber Hub is pleased to advise that from the week commencing 8 February to 12 February it will be showcasing its research and partners facilities through a series of lunchtime webinars being held at 12pm to 1:15pm AEST.

Schedule of Webinars:

Day 1 - Monday 8 February

ARC Future Timber Hub - The University of Queensland Structures & Architecture Showcase

ARC Future Timber Hub projects covered will be: 

  1. Prefabrication and digital fabrication strategies for large-scale timber construction
  2. Alternative uses for under-valued sawmill products in innovative timber structures

Day 2 - Tuesday 9 February

ARC Future Timber Hub - Department of Agriculture & Fisheries Showcase

ARC Future Timber Hub projects covered will be: 

  1. Impact of continuous drying on key production and performance criteria of engineered wood structural elements
  2. Non-destructive evaluation of elastic material properties and acoustic characterisation of wood based massive panels
  3. Pathways to Net Zero Energy for Engineered Wood Multi-storey Buildings in Australian Tropical and Sub-Tropical Climates [eWoodZEB]

Day 3 - Wednesday10 February

ARC Future Timber Hub - Griffith University Showcase

ARC Future Timber Hub projects covered will be:

  1. Progressive collapse (robustness) resistance of tall timber frame buildings with CLT floors
  2. The optimisation of wood-based mass-panels for Australian building systems

Day 4 - Thursday 11 February

ARC Future Timber Hub - University of Canterbury Showcase

ARC Future Timber Hub projects covered will be:

  1. The behaviour of critical connections and core wall systems in tall timber buildings
  2. Resilient design of structural timber beam-to-column connections in fire condition

Day 5 - Friday 12 February

ARC Future Timber Hub - The University of Queensland Fire Showcase

ARC Future Timber Hub projects covered will be:

  1. A prototype hybrid Timber-FRP with enhanced fire and serviceability performance
  2. Exploring the self-extinguishment mechanism of engineered timber in full-scale compartment fires
